À La Carte Professional Services

Content Migration Services

Course content migration between platforms

Hourly Rate

Example: A healthcare organization needs to move 47 compliance training courses from Blackboard Learn to Canvas LMS. This involves exporting content, converting quiz formats, rebuilding navigation structures, migrating user completion data, and testing all interactive elements to ensure functionality in the new environment.

LMS configuration and optimization

Hourly Rate

Example: Setting up a new Moodle instance for a university department, including configuring user roles and permissions, establishing course categories and enrollment workflows, customizing the theme to match brand guidelines, setting up automated email notifications, configuring gradebook settings, and integrating single sign-on (SSO) authentication.

Platform selection consulting

Hourly Rate

Example: A nonprofit with 200 remote volunteers needs an LMS. I conduct a needs assessment interview, create a requirements matrix comparing Canvas, Litmos, TalentLMS, and Docebo based on their budget ($5K/year), mobile access needs, certification tracking requirements, and technical capacity. I deliver a recommendation report with implementation considerations.

User enrollment and data transfer

Hourly Rate

Example: Migrating 3,500 employee records from an Excel spreadsheet into a new LMS, including creating user accounts, assigning them to appropriate groups (by department, role, location), enrolling them in mandatory courses based on their job function, and importing historical completion records to show credit for previously completed training.

Training Needs Analysis (Standalone)

Performance gap analysis

Hourly Rate

Example: A sales team is missing quarterly targets. I conduct interviews with top performers and struggling reps, observe sales calls, analyze CRM data, and review existing training materials. I deliver a report identifying that the gap isn't knowledge-based but rather due to inadequate follow-up systems and lack of objection-handling practice—recommending a coaching program and CRM workflow changes rather than a training course.

Organizational learning assessments

Hourly Rate

Example: Conducting a comprehensive learning maturity assessment for a manufacturing company, evaluating their current training infrastructure, delivery methods, measurement practices, and learning culture. I survey stakeholders, review existing programs, and benchmark against industry standards to create a 3-year learning strategy roadmap.

Skills audits independent of course development

Hourly Rate

Example: A technology company wants to understand current competency levels across their software development team before planning professional development. I create a skills matrix covering 25 technical competencies, distribute self-assessments, conduct manager validations, and deliver a gap analysis report showing that 60% of developers need advanced Python training and 40% lack cloud architecture knowledge.

LMS Administration & Management

Ongoing platform maintenance

Hourly Rate

Example: Monthly retainer service where I log into the client's LMS to archive outdated courses, update enrollment rules as organizational structure changes, troubleshoot user access issues, apply software updates and security patches, maintain integrations with HR systems, and ensure compliance with data retention policies.

User support coordination

Hourly Rate

Example: Managing a help desk ticketing system for learners experiencing LMS issues. I triage requests, create a knowledge base of common problems (password resets, browser compatibility, mobile app questions), train internal staff on first-line support, escalate technical issues to the vendor, and track resolution times to improve user experience.

Quality assurance monitoring

Hourly Rate

Example: Conducting quarterly audits of all courses in an LMS to verify that videos still play correctly, links aren't broken, SCORM packages launch properly, quizzes function as intended, accessibility features work with screen readers, and completion tracking reports accurately. I document findings in a QA report with prioritized remediation recommendations.

Reporting and analytics setup

Hourly Rate

Example: Configuring custom dashboards in a corporate LMS to show executives real-time completion rates by department, creating automated weekly reports that email managers their team's progress on mandatory compliance training, setting up cohort analysis to compare onboarding effectiveness across hiring quarters, and building a Power BI integration to visualize training ROI metrics.

Job Aids & Performance Support

Quick reference guides

Hourly Rate

Example: A one-page laminated card for call center employees showing the 7-step process for handling customer complaints, including decision tree flowchart, key phrases to use, escalation criteria, and system codes to enter. Designed to sit next to their computer for just-in-time reference during calls.

Workflow templates

Hourly Rate

Example: Creating a standardized project intake form for a marketing team, including fillable fields for project scope, timeline, stakeholders, and deliverables. Also providing a corresponding Trello board template with pre-populated task lists, due date formulas, and approval checkpoints that teams can duplicate for each new campaign.

Infographics and visual aids

Hourly Rate

Example: Designing a visual one-pager showing "The Employee Journey at Our Company" with illustrated icons representing each stage from recruitment through retirement, including key touchpoints, benefits at each stage, and who to contact. Used for orientation and posted in break rooms.

Digital toolkits

Hourly Rate

Example: A comprehensive "New Manager Toolkit" delivered as a shared folder containing templates (1-on-1 meeting agendas, performance review forms, delegation worksheets), video tutorials on giving feedback, a curated reading list with links, a 30-60-90 day planning guide, and interactive checklists for common management scenarios.

Technology Integration Support

SCORM packaging

Hourly Rate

Example: A client has developed HTML5 course content but needs it packaged to track completions in their LMS. You create the imsmanifest.xml file, configure the course to communicate with the LMS via SCORM 1.2 API, set completion criteria (80% of slides viewed + quiz passed), test the package in SCORM Cloud, and deliver a .zip file ready for upload.

xAPI implementation

Hourly Rate

Example: Setting up an xAPI learning record store (LRS) to track learning that happens outside the LMS—like watching YouTube tutorials, attending conferences, reading articles, and participating in mentorship sessions. I configure statements to capture these activities, create a browser plugin for learners to log informal learning, and build dashboards showing comprehensive learning journeys beyond formal courses.

Third-party tool integration

Hourly Rate

Example: Connecting a company's Cornerstone LMS with their Zoom account so that webinar attendance automatically posts to learner transcripts, integrating LinkedIn Learning so employees can launch courses via SSO and have completions sync back to their profile, and setting up a Salesforce integration that automatically enrolls new hires in onboarding based on their job title field.

Learning analytics setup

Hourly Rate

Example: Implementing a learning analytics system that pulls data from the LMS, HRIS, and performance management system to answer questions like "Do employees who complete leadership training get promoted faster?" and "Which courses correlate with reduced safety incidents?" I set up the data pipeline, create predictive models, and build executive dashboards showing training impact on business KPIs.

Services can be combined into one (1) comprehensive package. Payment installments are based on project milestones/deliverables. A 25% deposit is required prior to the project's first action phase. Remaining payment is due prior to the project's hand off. Services may be subject to an outsourcing charge for sub contracted services. If such event occurs, notification will be present in the service agreement. Payment is determined by sub contractor and is non-negotiable.

Why These Are Separate from Design Fees

Our standard instructional design projects include the complete ADDIE process: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation support, and Evaluation planning. The services listed above represent specialized work that either:

  1. Occurs outside the design lifecycle (e.g., post-launch content updates, ongoing LMS administration)
  2. Addresses technical or administrative needs rather than instructional design (e.g., platform migration, system configuration)
  3. Provides supplementary materials not included in the original scope (e.g., additional job aids, facilitator resources)
  4. Requires specialized expertise beyond standard instructional design (e.g., accessibility compliance, advanced assessment psychometrics)

Pricing Structure:

  • Project-based fees for defined deliverables
  • Hourly rates for consulting and advisory services
  • Monthly retainers for ongoing support
  • Per-item pricing for discrete elements (quiz questions, job aids, etc.)
